a smart cutting board for the modern household

Poorer diets, exacerbtated from growing convenience foods in the market, has led to passive learning and development has deteriorated, leading to cooking skills and the knowledge to prepare food become a growing issue within newer generations [McGowan et al. 2017 ].
why Sensible?
The design brief of this project directs our attention to the Education, Learning, and Development of Australians. Over the past five years, there has been a discernible uptick in personal health consciousness. However, studies reveal a concerning trend, young Australians face limited opportunities for cooking, a consequence of the growing accessibility of affordable, but generally unhealthy convenience foods in the preceding decades

To fully encapsulate our potential users needs in using Sensible, we conducted a thorough research process which could be summarised as:
- Users need a recipe, and cooking guides to help them cook better, safely, and confidently
- Users find it difficult to build the habits of cooking.
- Users wish to be able to cook together effectively, as it will enhance their engagement with the activity

In response to the issues faced by our potential users, we have developed Sensible, a digital cutting board that conveniently resides in the kitchen. Sensible tackles these issues by offering a comprehensive cooking learning experience through collaborative learning features, including guided step-by-step instruction via multiplayer cutting boards. Additionally, Sensible fosters a social community to promote participation and build cooking habits. Finally, The detailed recipes accompanied by help resources would enable users to cook confidently in an effective and safe manner.
